Arrival

all details can be found > here.

Weather, climate

Basically it is summer in August and summer in the Salzkammergut is beautiful. Nevertheless temperatures can be rather low at night and a jacket or sweater wouldn’t be bad – maybe even two over each other. Sometimes rainproof clothing and boots are necessary – but how is the saying: “there’s no bad weather – only bad equipment”.
By the way: there was never snow at the past 13 jamborees.

Which languages are spoken at the jamboree?

Camp languages are german and english. For further languages we will find contact persons, who can help foreign participants.

Is scout uniform worn at the jamboree?

On special occasions at the jamboree – like opening or closing ceremony – ist is internationally usual to wear the scout unifrom. You will get a jamboree neckerchief at arrival and it signalizes that you are participant.

What is your postal address at HOME 2018?

Your postal address at the jamboree will be:

Name, Surname

Infrastructure

Scout Camp Austria is a permanent scout campsite. Therefore most of the sanitary facilities, water-, waste water-, electric power-supply etc. are preinstalled. In case of the International Jamboree further areas expanding the campsite are rented, but we don't have to create a site in the middle of nowhere. There are warm-water-showers for all participants.

Showers

There are warm water showers at the campsite and for the HOME 2018 Jamboree additional showers and facilities to wash oneself will be established.

Beer table sets

We are sorry, but we can’t offer you beer table sets, because they are needed for the programme and gastronomy.

Internet / WiFi

We attempt to establish wireless lan at the gastronomy areas. The Scout Camp Austria is a little far-off, therefor the bandwidth is quite limited. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience because of occasional failures.

Gastronomy

There will be a gastronomy unit in every stage camp acoording to the age of participants. The offerings are coordinated with the people in charge of the stage programme. In addition there will be a guild-cafe and locations for leaders again.

Shop

Somewhere central you can find the HOME 2018 Shop. Beauti- and useful things in HOME 2018-Design can be bought here as well as postcards, a small variety of cosmetic products, sweets (chocolate, ice cream …), stamps etc.

Electric power for the participants

The power supply at the camp site is a complicated matter. Therefor electricity is only for programme as well as infrastructure, but cannot be provided for participants. But of course there will be possibilities to charge cell phones.

Parking

Cars can be parked outside the camp in Eggenberg on labelled parking places. Please come to the Jamboree with as less cars as possible. For the sake of the climate.

The access directly to the campsite is without exception only on arrival and departure day for delivering material possible. Afterwards the car immediatly has to be brought to the parking area, a few steps away from the campsite.
