Here is a list of frequent asked questions concerning HOME 2018. If you can't find satisfying answers don't hesitate to contact the camp administration!
Basically it is summer in August and summer in the Salzkammergut is beautiful. Nevertheless temperatures can be rather low at night and a jacket or sweater wouldn’t be bad – maybe even two over each other. Sometimes rainproof clothing and boots are necessary – but how is the saying: “there’s no bad weather – only bad equipment”.
By the way: there was never snow at the past 13 jamborees.
Camp languages are german and english. For further languages we will find contact persons, who can help foreign participants.
On special occasions at the jamboree – like opening or closing ceremony – ist is internationally usual to wear the scout unifrom. You will get a jamboree neckerchief at arrival and it signalizes that you are participant.
Your postal address at the jamboree will be:
Scout group, age section
Pfadfinderlager HOME 2018
4880 Berg im Attergau
There is a possibility for a short refreshment in the ager, the small river flowing through the camp site. The nearby Attersee provides several public bathing places. The duty of supervision for swimmers and non-swimmers lies in the responsibility of their leaders.
Yes, campfires are allowed – in fire bowls, that we provide or you bring with yourself. There will be enough firewood available. There will be fixed supply times for that.
In case of extreme dryness there may be a few restrictions for camp fires.
All guests are warmly welcome on the visitors day, Sunday, 12th August 2018
The gastronomical areas provide a variety of food and non-alcoholic drinks.
There wil be a specific area on the camp site for guests and the possibility to be catered by the "team-kitchen". Registration at the camp administraion at the jamboree is obligatory.

With this registration you will be one of the first to be informed about final registration and then counts the order of incoming bookings.
On the other hand you can help us in planning, when we know how many participants will be here.
You can register until end of October 2017.
There is one initial registration per group, no matter how many persons and how many age sections want to participate. If the number of persons change or an additional age section wants to participate, your inputs can be edited.
Scout Camp Austria is a permanent scout campsite. Therefore most of the sanitary facilities, water-, waste water-, electric power-supply etc. are preinstalled. In case of the International Jamboree further areas expanding the campsite are rented, but we don't have to create a site in the middle of nowhere. There are warm-water-showers for all participants.
There are warm water showers at the campsite and for the HOME 2018 Jamboree additional showers and facilities to wash oneself will be established.
We are sorry, but we can’t offer you beer table sets, because they are needed for the programme and gastronomy.
We attempt to establish wireless lan at the gastronomy areas. The Scout Camp Austria is a little far-off, therefor the bandwidth is quite limited. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience because of occasional failures.
There will be a gastronomy unit in every stage camp acoording to the age of participants. The offerings are coordinated with the people in charge of the stage programme. In addition there will be a guild-cafe and locations for leaders again.
Somewhere central you can find the HOME 2018 Shop. Beauti- and useful things in HOME 2018-Design can be bought here as well as postcards, a small variety of cosmetic products, sweets (chocolate, ice cream …), stamps etc.

Cars can be parked outside the camp in Eggenberg on labelled parking places. Please come to the Jamboree with as less cars as possible. For the sake of the climate.
The access directly to the campsite is without exception only on arrival and departure day for delivering material possible. Afterwards the car immediatly has to be brought to the parking area, a few steps away from the campsite.
We try to make every area of the HOME 2018 camp site accessable for handicapped people. There are accessable toilets and showers. If you have special needs do not hesitate to contact us.
